– Siffar lu'ulu'u (euhedral, subhedral, anhedral)
- Ragewa da fasawa

2. Ana amfani da XPL don lura:
- Launuka masu tsangwama
- Haɗawa, misali a cikin plagioclase
- Kusurwar Karewa
- Birefringence (matakin bambanci a cikin ma'aunin refractive)
- Alamun lu'ulu'u da alaƙar ma'adinai

A cikin binciken, masana ilimin ƙasa za su gano manyan ma'adanai (misali quartz, feldspar, pyroxene, amphibole, mica) da ma'adanai masu alaƙa (zircon, apatite, titanite) da kuma ma'adanai na biyu da suka samo asali daga canji (sericite, chlorite, epidote, calcite).

d. Nazarin Zane da Tsarin

Baya ga abubuwan da suka shafi ma'adanai, nazarin petrography yana kuma jaddada nazarin yanayin ƙasa (girma, siffa, da alaƙar da ke tsakanin hatsi/ma'adanai) da tsari (manyan siffofi da suka fi tsari). Misalan muhimman zane-zane:

– Tsarin Mylonitic: ƙaiƙayi mai ƙarfi saboda yankewa, wanda ke haifar da ƙananan ƙwayoyin cuta da kuma ƙarfin foliage.

KARANTA  Gano halayen duwatsun sedimentary masu kama da na roba

A cikin duwatsun sedimentary, petrography na iya bayyana matakin rarrabuwa, zagayen hatsi, nau'in siminti (silica, calcite, iron oxide), da porosity. A cikin duwatsun metamorphic, petrography na iya gano ma'adanai masu ma'ana kamar garnet, staurolite, kyanite, da sillimanite, waɗanda ke da amfani wajen tantance matakin metamorphism.

e. Ƙidaya: Ƙidaya Maki da Rarrabawa

Domin ƙara daidaito, ana ƙara yawan petrography ta hanyar amfani da hanyoyin ƙididdiga kamar ƙidaya maki. Da wannan hanyar, mai lura yana ƙididdige kashi na ma'adanai bisa ga wasu wuraren lura da aka tsara a cikin ƙananan sassa. Ana amfani da sakamakon don rarrabawa, misali:

- Rarraba duwatsu masu kama da juna bisa ga ma'adanai da rubutu masu rinjaye (schist, gneiss, marmara, quartzite)

Kidaya ma'adanai yana da amfani wajen tantance ingancin ma'ajiyar ruwa a nazarin ilimin ƙasa na mai da iskar gas, misali abubuwan da ke cikin simintin carbonate wanda ke rage ramuka.

3. Fassarar Tsarin Ƙasa

Babban darajar petrography shine fassara. Daga bayanan ma'adanai da rubutu, masana ilimin ƙasa za su iya sake gina hanyoyin da suka samar da duwatsu. Wasu misalai na fassara:

- Kasancewar plagioclase mai siffar zoned a cikin duwatsu masu kama da igneous na iya nuna canje-canje a cikin abun da ke cikin magma yayin lu'ulu'u.
– Halayen metamorphic kamar samuwar garnet daga chlorite da biotite suna nuna ƙaruwar zafin jiki da matsin lamba.
– Simintin silica a cikin dutse mai yashi yana nuna matakin diagnetic, yayin da sake yin amfani da shi na iya ƙara ko rage ingancin rami.
- Canza yanayin zafi kamar su sericitation, chloritization, ko silicification na iya zama alamar tsarin ma'adinai na ma'adinai.

Saboda haka, binciken petrography ba wai kawai ya amsa "abin da wannan dutsen ya ƙunsa ba", har ma da "ta yaya aka kafa shi aka canza shi".

4. Fa'idodi da Iyakokin Hanyoyin Petrographic
